MARILYN MONROE CONTRE LES VAMPIRES aka PHOEBE ZEITGEIST aka BLOOD ON THE CAT’S NECK is Liminal’s operatic update of the 1972 black comedy by R. W. Fassbinder. In this satire, Phoebe Zeitgeist is a singing alien agent sent to Earth to investigate human democracy in action. She learns the language, but can’t figure out the inhabitants. Then vampires show up… The show combines performance art, video, and opera into an immersive experience. With no central stage, audiences are invited to walk around the 360-degree videoscape. Seating is provided for those who need it. For one weekend only – Thursday – Sunday, December 8 – 11 with two shows a night at 7:30 and 9:30 pm, Sundays 5:30 and 7:30 pm at Disjecta Gallery8371 N Interstate Ave. Directed by John Berendzen with Carissa Burkett, soprano and 15 other voices. $20 general with student and artist rates available.
