AKA BLOOD ON THE CAT'S NECK At Disjecta, 2016.
For one weekend in December 2016, Liminal invited audiences to wander through a 360-degree Fassbinder fantasia to witness the serenades of the living, the dead, the virtually living, and the virtually dead. One live operatic soprano and a cast of nine video characters transformed Disjecta's gallery space into a maelstrom of layered multimedia, fractured narrative, music and live performance.
In this (literally) biting social satire based on filmmaker R. W. Fassbinder's 1972 script, Phoebe Zeitgeist is an alien intelligence sent to Earth to investigate human democracy in action. Sadly, Phoebe has a problem—she learns our language, but can't figure out US.
Also, vampires. Sort of.
